J’AIME les Macarons began its journey in Christchurch in 2008, founded by Bridget O'Sullivan after finding inspiration in the beautiful patisseries and boulangeries of Europe. After spending six years in London and traveling extensively throughout Europe, Bridget returned home and felt there was a gap in the market for small, hand-crafted, beautiful sweet treats. Combining premium ingredients with innovative flavour profiles, our macarons quickly became a beloved treat for those seeking a taste of Europe in Christchurch.
Fifteen years later, our macarons are cherished across New Zealand. We've expanded our offerings to include a variety of delectable treats, and our kitchen and headquarters have become a bustling hub for pastry chefs, experienced bakers, customer service professionals, and marketing specialists. Our store at Merivale Mall remains a destination for food enthusiasts, eager to experience our exciting seasonal collections alongside classic French-inspired delicacies.
2024 marks a new chapter for us as we welcome Denise Morreau as a partner, bringing new energy along with her design expertise. We’re also excited to unveil a bold new look that captures the essence of who we are today—modern, creative, and committed to quality.
We are keeping our best-selling products and our beloved range of creative macarons, but we’re also expanding our confectionary and patisserie offerings. Our inspiration comes from global trends, but we remain firmly rooted in our commitment to New Zealand quality and seasonal ingredients.
As part of our evolution, we've simplified our name to J’AIME, meaning "I love" in French, a phrase that perfectly captures our passion for food and creativity.
